Allocated Bourbon in Buffalo, NY — Live Availability & Waitlist
Allocated bourbon is the small, controlled release of high-demand bottles that distilleries ship in limited quantities to a handful of stores. Buffalo House Liquor & Wines is one of the few retailers in the Buffalo metro that receives regular allocations — and unlike secondary-market sellers, we sell every bottle at MSRP, one per customer.
What "allocated" actually means
A distillery decides how many cases of a label (say, Eagle Rare 17 or George T. Stagg) it will release in a given calendar year. Those cases are divided among its national distributors, which then divide them again among states, and again among individual stores. By the time a bottle reaches Tonawanda, NY, there might be six of it in the entire Buffalo metro area. That's an allocation. Demand exceeds supply by 10× or more, so stores either run a waitlist, run a lottery, or sell to whoever walks in first.

- Visit Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Distributor deliveries usually land mid-week. By Saturday, the rare stuff is gone.

Allocated bourbon FAQ
Do you sell allocated bourbon above MSRP?
No. Every allocated bottle leaves Buffalo House at its suggested retail price. We do not run a "secondary market" pricing model. We'd rather sell to a customer who'll actually drink it than to a flipper.
Can I buy a full case of Blanton's?
No. Allocated releases are one bottle per customer per release. This is how the entire distribution chain stays fair.
How far in advance do you know what's arriving?
Usually 24–72 hours. Distributors give us a heads-up but quantities can change at the last minute. The newsletter and our text-list members get the call first.
Do you ship?
We deliver same-day across the Buffalo metro (Tonawanda, Kenmore, Amherst, Williamsville, Cheektowaga, Snyder, Depew, Lancaster, Buffalo). We do not ship allocated bourbon out of state — New York liquor law restricts it.
