Flavored Whisky questions

What is flavored whiskey?
Whiskey infused after distillation with flavors like cinnamon, apple, honey, peach or maple. It's usually sweeter and lower in proof than straight whiskey, which makes it easier to drink chilled or as a shot.
Is Fireball actually whiskey?
It's a cinnamon-flavored whisky liqueur — Canadian whisky as the base, with cinnamon flavor and sweetener added. At 66 proof it's lower strength than standard whiskey, which is why it drinks so easily.
Why is flavored whiskey lower proof?
Adding flavoring and sweetener dilutes the spirit, so most flavored whiskeys land around 60–70 proof versus 80–100 for straight whiskey. Expect a softer, sweeter pour.
How should I drink flavored whiskey?
Chilled or as a cold shot is the most common way. They also mix well with cider, cola or ginger ale, and honey or apple versions work nicely in simple highballs.
