Bourbon questions

What's the difference between bourbon and whiskey?
All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon. Bourbon is an American whiskey made from at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak, which gives its signature vanilla-caramel-oak sweetness. 'Whiskey' is the broad category that also covers rye, Scotch, Irish and more.
Bourbon vs. rye — what's the difference?
It comes down to grain. Bourbon is at least 51% corn (sweeter, rounder); rye is at least 51% rye grain (drier, spicier, peppery). Bourbon makes a sweeter Old Fashioned; rye gives a Manhattan more bite.
Should I drink bourbon neat or on the rocks?
Neat shows the fullest flavor; a few drops of water open the aromas; on the rocks smooths and lengthens the sip as it chills. There's no wrong answer — try a pour both ways and see what you like.
Do you carry allocated bourbon like Weller, Blanton's or Eagle Rare?
Yes — we keep a dedicated allocated shelf and run a waitlist for hard-to-find bottles. Allocated stock moves fast, so join the waitlist to get notified when it lands.
