Moscato questions

How sweet is Moscato?
Genuinely sweet — one of the sweetest popular wines, with pronounced peach, apricot and orange-blossom flavors. If you find most wines too dry, Moscato is the usual starting point.
How much alcohol is in Moscato?
Less than most wine. Moscato d'Asti runs around 5–7% ABV — roughly half a typical table wine — which is part of why it's such an easy, low-key pour.
What's the difference between Moscato and Moscato d'Asti?
Moscato d'Asti is the Italian original from Piedmont: lightly fizzy (frizzante), low in alcohol, delicately sweet. Other Moscato can be still or fully sparkling and often higher in alcohol.
How should Moscato be served, and what does it pair with?
Serve it cold, around 45°F. It's excellent with fruit desserts, pastries and cheese — and it's one of the few wines that stands up to spicy food, since the sweetness tames the heat.
